It sounds like yeast...
what are you feeding her? I would start with a grain free food like Taste of the Wild or Natural Balance, they have different protein sources but we use the fish and sweet potato. We use Malaseb for yeast, you can order it online or get it at the vet's office. I put it on a cosmetic cotton pad and wipe in the tail pocket, wrinkles, ears, etc.
I agree, yeast.
You can clean the folds with an apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and water solution. 1 part each. Dip a q-tip in the solution to clean the ears, don't drip or pour it in. For the folds and tail pocket you can use a cotton swab to clean. Dry well and maybe use a little Gold Bond poder to keep the tail and folds dry. Dry ears out well with a dry q-tip.
Try a food change if you don't have your bully on a grain free. Though with Sophie, even grain frree hasn't kept the yeasties away! Best of luck to you guys!

I third the motion! Yeast!
I know that nasty stuff well! But I usually deal with it with my Cocker Spaniel. My OEB, Zoey, now has some in her ears!
Agree it sounds like yeast, but we had a similar
experience when we changed Harley's food. He had always been on Natural Balance but a while ago they did something to their formula and he was having some issues. We tried a few different varieties of food. All were grain free. I can't remember for sure which one it was but think it was a Blue Buffalo formula that caused Harley to have dark red gunk come out of almost every orifice within hours of eating it. Ears, eyes, toes, everything was yuchy. Only tried that food for a few days and as soon as we stopped the red gunk dissapeared almost as fast as it had occured. Know that it may have been yeast but it came on (and disapeared) so quickly with that particular food that I am absolutely positive some ingredient in it was the cause.

Food issues
It was food issues for my Riley. We just changed her over to a raw diet and the dark gunk is gone. She had it in her nose wrinkle, her ears and in her tail pocket. I'd clean it daily and it was back, but it's been gone for a few weeks now.
amazing what a proper diet will do !!!!!
glad to hear rielly is feeling better and looking better.....does not take long on a good diet to feel better!!!!!
me too...
I just realized, I posted in the wrong forum.. recently my kibby has like almost chocolate earwax, reddish tears and arms!! I wonder if her dog food company changed the recipe? let me know what food you switch to!
sincerely, christine
