9day old pups with loose stool

hi everyone, my name is regina. i am new to this site . i have had bulldogs for 7 years now. i have a question if anyone has advice id greatly appreciate it..

i have 7 puppies and a couple of them have loose stool and there bottoms are a little red from it. i have been putting a dab of destitine to help sooth there poot lil butts. out of the 7 it is 3 pups that have this issue. i was thinking maybe parasites but then i think it would have to be all 7 pups sense there all nursing and then the other part of me thinks maybe there over eating, they are quite chunky.. is any one familiar with this or have any suggestions? i brought in a stool sample so im waiting to hear back fromn the vet... thank you all :)

very common in greedy bullie pups.

I have had this many times and always find its the greedy ones. They do get sore bums and i tend to use a nappy rash cream that we have here in the uk .

Start the pups on Ben-e-bac gel,

it is a pro-biotic that will help them digest better and help with stools, also seems to make their poop less acid and it doesn't create raw puppy butts. For sore butts I use either Vitamin A & D cream, or a 50/50 mixture of Colodial Silver and Aloe Vera gel.

I've had momma's that are way too enthuastic about cleaning puppy butts and make them and keep them raw. If that is the cause, monitor how much cleaning she does and take over the job if necessary.

Ben-e-bac

I get it from the catalog or online Pet suppliers, but you can usually find it at most any pet store. I like the 15 gram tubes as they are much easier to use than the 1 gram tiny tubes that come in a 4 pack. If you have a Tractor Supply (or other farm type store) they have larger tubes packaged for cattle and horses, but those can be tricky to get the little bit a small pup needs.

loose stool

Often loose stool in newborns is caused by overeating!  The benebac is a good idea, and I'd give to all.   I think even Petco and Petsmart carry it.  Keep those little butts clean and dry and protected with desitin in between feedings....even if mom licks it off, some stays on and will help heal them.  Good luck!
