Hi EveryBully!





I wasn't going to say anything yet, but, can't NOT tell my best bully buds what's in the works!
Last week Elgene (whom you'll remember with her baby girl, Teaser, & bully boy,Chester) emailed me with information about a new reality show that CBS has in the works, tentatively called, "America's Top Dog". (The Casting Producer had sent information to a friend of hers who has bulldogs and told her to pass it on to her bulldog group )

Anyway, it seems they are getting ready to film a show pitting "talented dogs and their owners" against one another in a series of tests, eventually crowning a "Top Dog" and awarding a "substantial cash prize".

Of course, this is right up my alley, being a competitive 2nd born child, so I sent off an email to Emily (the casting producer) and received a personal phone call a couple days later. She sounded extremely interested in pursuing us further as potential participants, and requested that we fill out the application and take the next step.


They will be narrowing down possible teams (to eventually be about a dozen dogs of varying background, talents and breeds) in the next week or so and we could be called down there for an interview.



Teams must also undergo extensive psychological & phyisical evaluations of both dog and handler to ensure they can hold up under the intense strain--and not have some condition that will complicate successful filming of the show. (Of course WE all know that my dogs and I are COMPLETELY "SaNe", right?!! )





Anyway--I have decided that my boy, Gabe, will be the one to accompany me, should we get the opportunity. He is incredibly athletic, motivated and smart...AND, he has recently mastered the classic "Sitting Bull--eeZ" trick of riding the rocking horse!!! This was Rosie's most unique trick and the one that won her the 2nd place prize on the America's Funniest show. Gabe, being a Boy Bully, doesn't straddle the horse like Rosie did, but he DOES mount it, place his paws on the handles and rock it on his own power






So, wish us luck and we'd appreciate your prayers as this would be a MAJOR commitment...I'd have to take about 6 wks off of work for the filming and leave my other two behind (not to mention my hubby who hasn't been separated from me for more than about 10 days before!) I think we could be a viable candidate for this and give those other doggies a run for the money...we'd sure give it the Ol' BuLLy Try (& try, and TrY...and TRY AGAIN, and again, and AgAiN! )

Of course, we are also very familiar with near misses & disappointment...as in The Martha Show and the Miss American Dog Beauty Pageant several years back--so it's a long shot--but well worth trying we figure! Until then...my app (which was a HUMONGUS ELEVEN pages of all kinds of detailed questions) is in, and we'll keep you posted on what we hear!
