What would you do?

Hi Everyone,
My girl Stella is just over 4 months old and I am concerned somewhat with her structure. I know she has good structure as when I hold her front end up, things look great but when her front is again placed on the ground, her left pastern isn't great and it's a bit easty/westy. I haven't changed her to adult food yet and am wondering if I do change her food will it help out with a stronger pastern and fix the easty westy or will I have to just deal with it. I'm including a pic of her taken at a local store (charity shoot) and I didn't stack her, just put her on the table but you can see what I mean about the left front leg. What would you all do? Thanks Shelley

Food change

Shelley,

1st you have a beautiful pup who looks to have a lot of promise for the future.

As to the turn out of her left front leg, I can't say for sure if changing to adult food will have an effect on that. However, I transition my pups from puppy food to adult between 12 and 16 wks to try to avoid any bone growth anomalies. I am not a canine nutritionist, so take the information for what it is worth.

As far as presenting her to her best when she hits the ring, just practicing regularly setting her up by rotating her elbow slightly out while grasping just at or below the elbow before placing the foot will help.

Good luck with her,
Dan Bandy

Re: What would you do?

Raise her food dishes, bring them up about 8 inches and her feet and legs should straighten up after a short time.
