When the bulldog was baiting the bull if this nose was not open he would of sufocated. Why is 6pts given, because the bulldog has a flat throat. This is why we need the nostrils large & wide. For easier breathing they bred a nose well laid back. The nose was broadened with wide nostrals. Remember they use to run and bait bulls

Only Disqualifcation on a bulldog is a brown or liver nose.
