Tacked on Shoulder of the Bulldog
My mentor Florence Savage told me there was a reason the bulldogs shoulders were tacked on. During the days of bull baiting the bulldog crawled across the arena to sneak up on the bull this was a good distance , they did not want the shoulders of a working or sporting dog as the dog would tire very easily and by having the shoulders tacked on he could do this job with great ease.
I laughed when she told me this as I had Buford in obedience & we were going for our last leg for our companion dog title, I had him on the long down and after 1 minute he crawled faster than any dog I ever trained, all the way came directly in front of me & cocked his head. I was so mad at him at the time but little did I know history was repeating itself!
Ah, yes! Yet another "M.O.C.K." dog! PIX
Our bully performance group decided we needed to come up with a new "Title" to honor the Most Entertaining Performances in the ring, so we came up with a "Master Obedience Clown K9" or "M.O.C.K." We had some fun with this at last year's nationals and offered a Special Prize to the Top MOCK dog during our nationals Rally & OB trials (won by Betty Fisher & her girl Copper--but with several real "contenders" in hot pursuit!). We also had a special MOCK group photo shoot and it turned out so fun, the gang decided to use it for a full-page ad in the Bulldogger. Here it is:

Official MOCK buttons were handed out to each team of "entertainers", with a Tote Bag going to Copper and her escort
Bullies are SO fun...and I wouldn't want it any other way!
