guess some of that novel came out wrong....
If a dog ends up with allergies, or gets cherry eye, hip dysplacia, (pretty much the same things many here dont cover) 'non-life threatening' I wont pay for it for them....they should have insurance, however they can return the dog for a replacement FOR LIFE<-----my lifetime guaruntee. I will always take a pup back, at any age, for any reason. They will get a dog of equal value at my earliest convenience.....so if a dog dies at 9 and they believe I owe them, they will be offered the first nine year old (well maybe 5-6-7 year old, not too many 9 year olds looking for homes), I have or rescue has needing a home! If a dog was put down at 2-3 for severe epilepsy, after the owners did everything possible, I personally would give them whatever age they wanted, my contract just states the dog would be replaced with a dog of equal value, but I would definitely offer a puppy if they had bought a puppy, regardless the age of the dog.
I had a Lawyer make my contract, and it only obligates me to replace with the same value, so no show pups to pet homes, and no puppies for 9 year olds.
If their dog got hit by a car, ate insulation, poison, was kicked, bit by another dog etc etc (non-hereditary).....and they wont provide vet care, I will take the dog back and pay for fixing it, but I would not refund them. Or if something like that happened and they had no insurance, I would take the dog and fix it, but would not return it or refund them, because they did not comply when they signed the contract saying they will provide insurance and health care at all times necessary. (trying to protect the dogs a bit here)
I see the way I wrote it.....that I would take a pup back and fix it without replacing the pup if the owners wouldnt cover minor issues, i should have expanded on what I meant, but was trying to keep it short lol
as for the last part.... "Some insurance dosnt cover all health issues, claiming they are breed related. In such a circumstance, if the pup was in a good home that couldnt afford it, or if they only had the dog a month or two, we would most likely help them out"
We obviously dont put that in our contract, just stating our feelings on that, like if a pup got cherry eye a month after purchase and insurance wouldnt help them, we would try to.
we dont sell enough pups to worry about it anyway, I was just saying what we offer for a guarantee, and it has worked well for us so far.
