.... So sad and hurt and Angry!!! My MeganGrace is gone.. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge!
Submitted by MontysDad on April 21, 2010 - 12:27amI lost my little baby Girl Megan Grace last night after she got run over by an unmarked police car... She survived the accident, I rushed her to the Emergency VET and he did x rays and everything she didnt have a single broken bone... But her lungs were filling with blood she was on Oxygen therapy... She had vomited blood 4 times and then nothing for a while... We expected a full recovery but at 1030 she hemorrhaged, She was alert before i left and could stand on her own, she gave me 3 kisses and lookd in my eyes like "Im trying Daddy, but im tired" I cried so very hard because I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!!
Heres what happened...
I had taken her out and fed her and Monty(My 2 year old Bully) and I remembered that I hadnt checked the mail all day so I put her and Monty in the Kitchen and I turned to close the gate... Somehow she made it through without my notice.. I opened the door and saw two gentlemen standing in front of the house and i saw a car I didnt recognize, i watched them chasing a young man across the street and one guy was instructed to go around the block and cut him off...Instead he jumps in and guns the car in reverse!!!! I DID NOT KNOW MEGAN WAS STANDING BEHIND ME... So the other undercover cop took off running and zoom!!! out the door goes Megan into the street chasing him I screamed on the top of my lungs but it was to late... The unmarked car had rolled over her... She was thrown into the Air under the car and spit out of the front of the car, I thought she was dead... I walked over to her and she had pood and thrown up her , I snatched her up jumped in the car and flew to the VETs office... I DID EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO SAVE HER my HEART IS BROKEN... IM SO DEPRESSED AND SADDENED i DONT KNOW HOW TO MOVE ON!!!

The officer called and so did his lieutenant!
They apologized tremendously and informed me that they informed the chief of Police about the incident which was a nice gesture... They told me how to recoup the financial loss from the city as well. I do appreciate their professionalism and sincerity. Now we will just wait and see what the city says...

Freak Accidents Happen
Please, please..........don't beat yourself up over it. I know that it will replay over and over in your mind. What happened, happened......we can't change it, we can only learn to cope with it.
Just know that there are people praying for you, wanting you to find peace out of a horrible ordeal. I have been dealing with my own loss now for 8 months. I can't say its been easy. I have cried every single day for 8 months, and may continue to for a few years, but I am learning to remember the good, and love and cherish memories. Hold photos dear, and don't be afraid to laugh again.
