You could try a high protein LOW FAT food they are out there in between meals get a LOW FAT Bisquit or just break the low fat food into four small meals a day as opposed to one or two so the sugar/protein levels are steady throughout the day. Best Wishes Deirdre

It takes more energy to digest good protein anyway. I noticed when I switched to Nature's Variety Raw Instinct, both dogs started to lose weight, and I had to up the amount. Uh, bowing out now...

We have tried the prescription diet food and it didn't work. Now we feed Chicken Soup for Large Breed. She gets 1 1/2 cups in the morning and 1 cup in the afternoon. We have tried to cut it back from that (slowly) and she will start in with the tremors. I have spent several hundred dollars on blood work that always comes back normal. I wish it was as simple as a thyroid problem. At least that we can fix. Thanks for the suggestions and I will listen to any others you have.

That would be fine if I could....she has a head tremor problem. Cut her food she has head tremors. BELIEVE ME, I HAVE TRIED. I have even tried the expensive weight control food. It doesn't work. She is a beautiful girl and I don't want to loose her. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks
Agree, cutting back on food intake and little exercise
will do the trick.

Again, check the ingredients of the food
wheat and corn are just fillers and wasted calories.
You can substitute some of the food with frozen green beans, less calories.

Something with no wheat or corn would be best for her. Exercise, even just a little with help her.
Have you had her thyroid checked, dogs gain weight when their thyroid is out of whack.
