We know you're tired of hearing this, but just one more time! (We're tired
of it too.)
We need your help to get objectionable provisions of the San Antonio Chapter
5 Animal Ordinance Revision removed. It's scheduled to be heard before the
city's Quality of Life Committee Tuesday, November 20th. Our efforts slowed
down the process but it's now due to go to a city council vote early in
December.

It's easy. Just fax a previous letter you wrote OR copy and paste the info
below in a Word document with any personal comments, and fax to the San
Antonio city officials listed below.

Tourism is a major industry in San Antonio so any out of town comments are
especially helpful.

I OPPOSE: San Antonio Chapter 5 Animal Ordinance Revisions for Mandatory
Spay/Neuter of all outdoor cats and all dogs over 6 months of age, the
Intact Dog Permit, Litter/Breeder Permit, New Pet Limits, Livestock and
Domestic Fowl (includes all birds) permits and high fees. An annual permit
and/or pet license fee will be required for almost every animal and
feathered creature owned in the city and will be granted at the sole
discretion of Jef Hale, Animal Care Services director. Noncompliance means
animals are subject to seizure and impoundments.

I SUPPORT: Incentives for Pet Spay/Neuter, Education, Enforcement of
Existing Ordinances, Trap, Neuter & Return Feral Cat Colonies, Animal
Cruelty, Dangerous Animal Provisions, and Nathan Winograd's "No Kill"
Philosophy which is programs and services - not overly oppressive
legislation!
