Timeline for Chapter 5 Animal Ordinance Revision
San Antonio City Council will vote in September on the revision.
There will be no public hearings before San Antonio City Council, according to Deputy City Manager Pat DiGiovanni,
only a ceremonial public hearing held immediately
preceding their official vote in September.
This will be impossible for most people to attend because of wwork hours.
Public comments regarding the Chapter 5 Animal Ordinance Revision can be made to the Animal Care Services Advisory Board (Dates below).
However be aware that this advisory board is predominantly animal rights activists who are the ones behind the most onerous ordinance provisions in the first place. They have organized and infiltrated city positions over the past three years in San Antonio.
Your comments will fall on deaf ears. If anything, the ordinance proposal will get worse, not better, as it progresses.
Responsible Pet Owners Alliance urges everyone to focus their efforts directly on the mayor, city manager and all city council members.
This ordinance will mean more animals will be impounded and killed at ACS, not fewer.
All meetings held by the Animal Care Services Advisory Board begin at 6:30 pm and are held at 131 El Paso, which is downtown off Santa Rosa, near IH 35.
August 1: Stakeholders Meeting for animal organizations
August 8: Regular meeting of ACS Advisory Board
August 22: Community Public Hearing
September 12: Regular meeting of ACS Advisory Board
The ACS Advisory Board will then put their blessing on this proposal which is now scheduled to go to city council for their approval in the latter part of September.
