Rescue, fosters and responsibility

While we are fighting for our rights to keep our dogs, we MUST remember that there are dogs out there who need us. Now.

We need to walk the walk if we talk the talk. Every breed organization and EVERY fancier needs to support rescue and education efforts.

For those who don't know, Rescue is getting overwhelmed with dogs. The reality of bulldog ownership is catching up with our breeds skyrocketing popularity and we need to help rescue NOW.

Please foster or provide other assistance to your local rescue. Do it today. If have the room and time to breed a litter, you have the space and time to foster. If you can get to a dog show, you can do an assemment or home check.

Thank you

Jen

Re: Jennifer--Thank you for posting this!

Amen from Central Oklahoma Bulldog Rescue.

Bravo!!!!!

Great feeling, isnt it. We work with rescue in central Oklahoma and have support, for the most part of our local club. Not only do we need to educate prospective owners, but also need to educate our clubs, as there are many misconception about rescue and the nuts and bolts of it all.
Enjoy your new family member. It is appreciated, I am sure.

Perserverance isn't a long race.
It's a series of short races,
ran one after the other.

Thank you, Jen - Lone Star Bulldog Rescue

Thank you so VERY much for sending out this reminder, Jen. Our Lone Star Bulldog Rescue group was actually working on a letter this week that URGES our Bulldog friends and fellow club members to consider fostering.

We have Bullies coming out of our ears... and we're dreading the day when we may actually have to turn one away.

If anyone has Bully friends in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, please ask them to get in touch with us. We always need donations (a given for any rescue), but money seems to be easier to find than foster homes!

Our Web site is www.dfwbulldogrescue.org. Please note: not all of our dogs are listed on the site; we currently have about 20 in our program. Folks can email us through the site or contact me directly at doblackburn@yahoo.com.

Thanks much,
Deirdre Jack

Kudos, Jennifer!

i just took in my first foster on monday.

she's 11 years old and other then a few random barks and bumping in to a few things because of poor eyesight she seems in good health. She fits right in with my two other bulldogs and my mixed hearding dog.

Re: i just took in my first foster on monday.

YES he did!
Keith has proven "angels" really do exist... He took in an 11 year old girl, who is spunky as can be...
Thank you Keith so very much... She couldn't be in a better place...

Jennifer--Thank you for posting this!

Our rescue group has been very successful at rehoming dogs, no matter what their ages or their medical needs. But we desperately need foster homes to help them make the transition.

Please contact your local rescue group--it will be very much appreciated. If you can help in PA/NJ/MD or DE, HeavenSent Bulldog rescue would love to hear from you. Email us at hsrescue@aol.com or visit our web site at www.heavensentbulldogrescue.com
