I'm looking to buy 2 really good quality Crates for showing and I'd like to know what size and brand most people are using. I would rather pay a little more but have it hold up to the abuse of loading, hauling, banging and typical Bully Use. I think I'd like something with dual doors for convenience. I've seen so many at shows but they really seem to range in size. I want it big enough to use in the Hotel room as well as at the shows without taking up the whole vehicle. Any suggestions would be great!!
Thanks Steve...
We are driving to Nationals so I'll be sure to check them out... I forgot That I'm looking for a good crate dolly... Any suggestions on that?
Choices
IMHO there are 2 choices for the type crate you are wanting.
First: Central Metal - These crates are made in Indiana. I have one that is around 25 years old. Another that is about 20 years old. And I have a 3X3 puppy pen that is at least 20 years old. They cost more but they last almost forever. You can buy the direct from their web site.
Second: Precision - These are about the best of the made in China/Japan/Korea crates. The Delux 3 door is what I have four of. The two door is a good one as well. The best source for these is Dressler's dog supply in Kansas City. They have a web site. Going to the Nationals then pick one up at their retail shop and save the shipping.
As far as size goes we use a 36 inch for home use and long distance travel. A 30 inch is good for ring side. You can use the 30 inch for home use if your dog is in the 50 - 55 lb range. Much bigger and then a 36 inch.
Re: Sorry, i was just talking about the wheels
Unfortunately with the cost of aluminum right now, he is not making any carts right now. Also, he has taken some to nationals in the past and it didnt turn out to be very profitable, so this year if we go we will be traveling as light as possible with the baby. My thought is he may look into another batch early next year.
Yeah.... are you taking any to Nationals?
That would be so handy. I could get my crates & dolly at the same time and save freight all the way around. Bob do you have a web site?
Sorry, i was just talking about the wheels
Are you bringing some to Nationals?
I have one of yours, love how light it is to lift on top of my car.

Re: here they are, these are not Bob's but the same
Hi Vicky, the wagon walker carts aren't the same. His are made out of steel and weigh twice as much as mine. Mine are made out of aluminum with a expanded metal floor. If you see the two carts side by side you would see a big difference.
Thank you Bob
Do these expand out??
I'm sure you've seen them. The frame extends to carry 2 crates on the bottom or slides back together to fit one.
here they are, these are not Bob's but the same
