My female just lost a litter of pups. The pregnancy was confirmed with an ultrasound on 8/24 and we had an x-ray done yesterday and the vet did not see any. My question is does anyone knows how long it takes for the body to absorb the pups?

Days later Dixie had 7 pups. With no signs of problems (same as us) I hope that this is what is happening with you. We were told that she had pyo and he suggested that we spay. I am SO glad that I listened to the folks here and went with my gut!

My vet recommends an x-ray as soon as 10 days prior to the due date. We're keeping a close eye on her and will have another x-ray as we get closer. We haven't seen any sign of a discharge. She's still eating good and seems to be feeling well. Let's hope it was just too soon for the x-ray.

the closser you get to 60-63 days the more calcification of the bones and they show up. A thicker bitch with rib can hid puppies up high and they dont show up.
Why did you do an xray? were heart sounds not heard on a ultrasound after the first?

the bones do not show up until the last week of prego. So she could be prego but the xray is to early

Re: The SAME Thing happened to us
Do you remember what day you had the x-ray done? This gives me some hope. Thanks for the feedback
