ovulation pads

Has anyone yet tried this product from England?
e

I googled "Wysong Estrus Test Strips" and...

came up with this...

E-Mail: “I am the owner of "Emerald Glen Kennels", Salem WI. I've been breeding English Bulldogs for 35 years. "SMASHER" is my established bloodline, and I have bred some of the top Show Bulldogs in the country. Conception of the bitch has always been a challenge. I've been using your "Estrus Test Strips", for three and a half years… Using your test strips has proven 100% conception rate over the past year and a half. I maintain 4 to 8 breeding and show bitches and usually have about 4 litters a year. Before using your test strips I was lucky if I got 2 litters a year, using other methods.”

Yes...

these pads are designed to detect changes in pH and carbohydrate concentration in the vaginal fluid. basically you take one of the pads which is on a plastic strip, put it into the vagina for 15 seconds and then see if there is a color change.

Wasn't impressed...

I personally didn't find that they were as accurate as I had hoped. I did them along with progesterone testing and didnt find a strong correlation... unless I was reading them way wrong. lol

Day 5
progesterone= 0.7
Test Strip= negative

Day 6
test strip=negative

Day 7
test strip has purple edges which they say goes along with first day of ovulation

Day 8
strip turned a darker burgandy throughout (no purple though)
progesterone= 3.1

Day 9
strip negative

Day 10
strip slight purple edges
progesterone= 8.7

Bred day 11 and day 13

Result= 1 puppy
