We got back late last night from our whirlwind trip to nationals (about a 6 hr. drive each way). We are proud to say that The SittingBullies did their part for rescue by earning the following:
Pip:
1st place and HIT in Novice B (scoring 192/200)
1st place in Rally Advanced B (scoring 97/100)
Gabe:
2nd place in Novice B (scoring 189--would have given his Ma a run for the HIT status but he didn't do his usual Absolutely Amazing recall--the judge used signals for the recall instead of verbals and it really threw the boy off )
and The Chubby Wonder:
1st in Rally Excellent (scoring 98)
Chubbs was doing an AWESOME job in Open B, but got a little "crowd pleaser fever" and forgot to return over the high jump on that retrieve...whoops!) She would have had a 195 or so--we could have had a three way SittingBullies run off for HIT had each of the pups not blitzed on a couple things that they usually ace!
Chubbs also debuted in the utility ring, though she's still fairly green and did great on several exercises, but did not qualify (she really got silly for the Grand Finale and switched to "Creative Jumping" rather than the required Directed Jumping She was having an absolute blast out there which was nice to see considering she was injured and limping a week & a half earlier!
We had a great time meeting up with many of our friends from the Yahoo Bulldog Performance Group--including handing out some silly "awards" of our own. We have established a Special Title that exemplifies the "creative entertaining" ingenuity of our beloved bullies...the "M.O.C.K" Award (Master Obedience Clown K-9). Buttons were given out to the many "talented" individuals and a Special Top MOCK Award was announced (...Hmmm. Maybe Betty F. will write more about the recipient of that award in her next "Train-A-Bulls" column for The Bulldogger )
There was a great entry and lots of success for bullies in both obedience and rally rings! I'll post pix when I get them from my "assistant" Until then here's our "MOCK" photo shoot from nationals...
BTW--got to meet Rod, Jennifer, Baby Brennan (his Mom was showing and Jen was babysitting) & Pat (Doc & Sure Shot's Mom) besides the OB folks. Pretty fun stuff!
