I received an email update from Director, Richard Boddington, about The Dogfather movie. Currently all of the editing has been completed and it is in LA having the sound track made. Richard has a sales promo out and it is being marketed to all of the big film companies (Disney is set to see it in January). Richard is very pleased with how it turned out--in his words, "It turned out just great! It's a very funny, great looking family film that I know you will be proud of."
I was able to get some fun photos of our film shoot that I thought you'd enjoy seeing (sharing with Richard's permission Here's our cast/crew photo from our "wrap" (a few of the actors aren't in the photo as they were wrapped a couple days prior) This was taken in front of the main set--the "Franks Family home" from the movie...
This is a photo that was taken on set as a mock poster for the movie, with "Sonny" (Gabe) and "Don Tazio" (Gerry Mendicino). DOP (Director of Photography) Denis Maloney had the scene lit in classic "Godfather" style. Being on set that day was pretty funny...looked like a mafia convention with all of the "Dons" wandering around!
Richard posted this photo of "lead dog, Gabe, offering technical advice to cameraman, Stephen Whitehead"...
A shot showing the camera & dolly on track during filming...
Me on set handling Speedo, who did most of the running scenes. Speedo was bred by Jan Lewis & is actually related to Gabe so he made a great double! Being younger he wasn't as developed in head/chest and didn't overheat as easily. He was also a real "lover" and did some of the snuggling scenes that Gabe wasn't too crazy about ("I HARDLY know you and you want to get 'personal' with me?!!" LOL!)...
Brian (Chris Parnell) & Josh (William Cuddy) Franks on set with Sonny (Gabe)...
"Vinny" (Dax Ravina), Director Richard Boddington, "Don Tazio" & "Joey" (Tony Nappo) with "Sonny"...
Gabe on set at the school with teacher, "Miss Carrington" (Sarah Jackson) & kids--"Dino" (Michael Friend) in front with Rottie "Rocky" (aka Toad), "Olivia" (Rachel Marcus) & "Josh" with assorted classmates...
..and "Sonny" with "The Ring of Doom"!
We'll continue to keep you posted on DoGFaTheR NeWs as it unfolds in the coming months!

And that's exactly what Speedo did!
...that boy LOVED running! He did most of the running scenes and was like a wild horse to hold still until it was his time to go! (you can see me hanging on to him!) He was so funny, because sometimes he knew the GENERAL direction to run, but he'd get "lost" and race off to the side! He's spending his days putting up with Gabe's son, Sonny, now--who Bonnie also bought to raise up for doubles for the Dogfather sequels along with Speedo. He's so patient with him and let's him chew on him and be obnoxious, until he's had enough, then he'll hold him until he settles down and finally let him go!

Gus says "Go brother Speedo!"

It certainly was an incredible opportunity!
What fun it'll be to watch my boy on the big screen...and then to save on DVD
So exciting Cheryl
