If your dogs have allergies I would recommend getting them off the royal canin and start a food with no grains. Some of the foods you mentioned have been recommended by others on the health forum. I feed Eagle Pack Holistic dry and canned foods and have had very good results.

I keep my girls on their normal diet until the pregnancy is confirmed (26-30 days), then I start adding a little extra meat. I usually bake boneless chicken thighs with a bit of garlic powder for flavor. Don't add any SALT!

i do a switch to whatever puppy food i will be giving the pups unless the dogs are already on a hi protein high fat food...like a quality all stages maintenance...which mine are on now...and i have been giving prenatal vitamins since the bitch looked or acted like she was coming into heat, but it is never too late to add prenatal vitamins w/ folic acid. i also give cranberry tabs the last 2 weeks and bottled 'no sodium' water as well as giving fresh meat, like chicken, high quality hamburger or ground turkey or steak that i parboil in the no sodium water as well as some plain yogurt for extra calcium if the bitch likes it...oh...3 yolk scrambled eggs made in microwave...3 eggs, separate out the whites from 2 of them so the bitch gets extra nutrition in a smaller amount since mine always seem to get picky towards the last 2 weeks and their stomach has less room. i feed probably 4 to 6 small meals a day depending on yhe bitch and how much she can/will eat at one time...those last few days i am often down to hand feeding food i cook.

one more question and then I will leave you alone...LOL... should I do a single source protien or not?

per day if im feeding extras i cut it back to 1 1/2 per day and add hamburger or chicken.

Prego's get 2 cups unil they spit out he kibble then they get raw.

might be good for one girl that I cannot keep weight on... how much do you feed? Maddie 53 pounds and she is not fat.. Kirra weighs 46.... KiKi weighs 45... and Angel weighs 43.. what do you think on food amount. They have been free fed except for Angel( I think she would eat til she blew up, I know that I may not be able to free feed with a new food. Thnak you for all your help. Much appreciated!!
