We're on a roll-3rd bitch in a row to get this......Nikki has it in 2 teats, been on antibiotics(ceph) for 3 days and goes to see the vet tomorrow. We are watching and testing the other teats to make sure they remain good. The pups are 10 days so we need the remaining teats to hang in there at least another 2 weeks. Do not look forward to bottle feeding another litter. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make her more comfortable? She is on 1500 mg of ceph daily, I have been doing warm compresses since yesterday and trying to strip the infected teats and of course, have them taped off to keep puppies off of them. I'm posting this also on the medical board also!! Thanks!!

To those who understand no explanation is needed. To those who don't no explanation is possible.

Hello Laura
I didn't have mastitis , however one time I thought I was about too. When the pups weren't nursing I put mom on her side nice and comfy, took damp hand towles and hot water bottles and leaned them on the area. The water bottles kept the damp towels there and nice and warm. Mom LOVED it !! Not sure if it prevented it , but sure helped.
Best Wishes
