Hi! This is my first time trying to post pictures, so bear with me:)
I have two bulldogs, a 3 year old male who I've never really thought of as a 'show' dog and a 1 year old female who we got in hopes of showing her. I was just looking for some opinions on them. I get so many compliments on my male because he's "in shape" He seems to have a fast metabolism and he's really got no meat on him. He is the healthiest bulldog I've ever met and has a great temperament. I've had a lot of people ask me about studding him. What do you think? Like I said before he is the picture of health & temperament.
My female on the other hand is quite meaty and I think shes got great potential. I've only shown her once so far and she's entered in the Bay Colony Cluster in a couple weeks. I was just wondering if people could tell me what they think of her & if you think she looks like she's still got some growing to do. She seems small (next to the other bullies at the show) at about 40lbs.
Any advice would be appreciated & don't worry, I won't be offended if you don't think my boy has show or breeding potential

IMO
If they were my babies, I would be showing the brindle but I wouldn't show the other but we all have our own preferences
I'll be there on Friday & Saturday....
Would love to meet you.
Sue
Thanks!
Thank you Lorraine

I love his tail too, it's something that I would like to see more often. I don't think I've ever seen a 'correct' straight tail on a bullie. If anyone has pictures or knows of breeders that work for the straight tail send them my way! I was looking for a straight tail girl when I got my Scarlett and couldn't find one...
I've been thinking about doing agility with Cooper - but we're still just in the thinking phase

Have fun showing...
Your girl has the build and has a ways of growing still to do...love your boy's tail and head is nice...body unfortunately is too long I think...would love a tail that long myself...but too hard to get rid of the long body...why don't you train him in obedience and rally and even agility and have some fun with him that way??? A neutered male will be a lot easier to do that with and to have around the house when your baby girl comes into heat. Nice bullies though...you should have fun with both of them in different venues...can keep you showing in one ring or the other all year round!

Go for it...or one of the performance events....
You end up with a different connection with your dog when you work with him/her ... whether that be owner/handling in breed ring and training for that or agility, which requires a certain amount of obedience b/c you need to have control of your dog off leash, or rally, which allows you to talk to your dog all the way through the exercises and only has them do an 'honor down' which means that after you have done your 'active' part in Rally then you put your dog off to the side in the ring, put him in a down and stand about 6' away from him while the dog after you does their ring exercises. There is someone there watching your dog...Cheryl with Chubbs and her crew or some others would be more up to date on Rally and the honor dog...not sure if you h ave to do a sit and then a down...I was table steward of a Rally ring at a show but I wasn't the one watching the dog doing the 'honor' stationary position. You get such an awesome bond with your dog...and getting 'legs' and working towards titles is fun and rewarding for your ego too...maybe your boyfriend can take your baby boy!!!

Exactly the answers that I was expecting for the question about my boy. Just needed some extra opinions to convince the boyfriend to neuter him. LOL
I got one really great - helpful email (thanks again!)
For now I'm going to continue having fun showing, & learning as much as I can about the breed I love so much
& We'll definitely be looking for Lone Star Bulldogs at the show.
Thanks!

have a great time at the show with your girl
she looks good, she still has about 2years of growing to do. so time will tell.
Your boy has a very athletic look, not what i would consider for show or stud. IMO i would have him fixed, it will be much much easier with an intact bitch in the house.

It is hard to tell from pictures..
Sorry can't be of much help to you.. I feel like it is hard to critique with pictures.. would need to see them in person... when going to shows get to know other bulldgogers and ask them to look them over and give their opinions...
We'll be at the
shows in Boston showing also..introduce yourself!!
