Little Brag from OKC show
Submitted by DonandKim on April 20, 2010 - 9:35pm Thursday,June 28th, Clarks Duchess of Westbury, in some very stiff competition recieved a RWB. Her first! There were 25 bitches total entered in all classes. Friday and Saturday, she slipped abit, but rallied back on Sunday to place first in 6-9 bitch. We are so pumped up over her doing so well, and can not wait to see how she does in her next entry, which will be Topeka KS in August.
We got to mark yet another rite to passage, as Duchess started her first heat cycle a week prior to the show! Kim and I just took all the advise of the wonderful bulldoggers that we asked, got her some "Big Girl Panties" and charged on! I did my damnedest maintain a sense of calm Thursday, but had to walk off down a hallway and whoop, jump for joy and then shed a happy tear. The air was simply electric when judge John R Shoemaker, pointed to Duchess and uttered "Reserve". It only gets better from here.

It was you, and Bulldoggers like you that inspired us to continue in the face of adversity. You guys continue to do so, in these tough times your facing now. I also remember, that just as we watched and gathered knowledge from others, that a new owner/handler may come on the scene and its our responsiblity to be positive role models to them, give them positive, honest encouragement and hopefully help them become a positive part for the betterment of the breed.

I remember last year at a specialty show in Oklahoma when you were just starting out with Winston and have enjoyed watching season as the days, months, and the year go by. Congratulation on such a HUGE accomplishment.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement and congratulations. We will do our best to bring out the best in what God has given us. Congrats to all that were there, that we shared the ring with. It was a great time, with great people, and beautiful bulldogs!

I am so excited for you all that Duchess is doing so well. Believe it or not, my cell phone rang at work on Thursday morning with the news... "Don got RWB! Yeah for the Brysons!" I was there on Saturday and Sunday and the bitches were absolutely lovely.

Kim was burnin off pics, pulled the battery to change it, got caught up and left it out abit too long and it dumped the date. Duch isn't 3 years old, shes only 7 teeny months old!
