I've read on here that using liquid kelp may help pigment come in . Layla has great nose pigment but is lacking pigment in one eye . Here are my questions :
1) Will liquid Kelp help eye pigment to come in ( I know there are no guarantees )
2) Will the kelp darken her skin pigment spots ? She has ALOT of pigment/possible ticking thats showing through her white . I am hoping her adult coat will hide this. Dont want to give kelp if this could make it worse .
3) what age should I start ? whats the dose ?
She is only 9 weeks old right now and here is a pic from a couple of weeks ago;-)
ok thanks ! I am not going to use it ;)
Kelp
All Kelp will do is darken what pigment your puppy has...It will not fill in missing pigment..Thats all genetics..

Hello -
We use kelp but I can not give you any scientific facts that it really works. Personally I think it dose to a small degree. The key is to be persistent. Everyday for at least a few months. We start them off when they are young. Here is Disco from a couple nights ago. Very nice boy but lacking eye rim pigment in one eye. The top eye rim is in and fortunately its beginning to come in on the corner of the eye also. Did the kelp help it come in? I don't know but it sure didn't hurt...

She looks like she's going to have spots anyway
At least it does from the pictures. She's going to change a lot in the next few months.

Cash is almost 14 months
and is still getting eye pigment. His nose filled in early, but his eyes are taking forever. In the last month his right eye has gone from nothing to almost full. I'd give it some time
I did start kelp a couple of months ago.

She's a beautiful puppy by the way!

Ok thanks . I dont want to use it if it will darken her spots. m
so I think I will just leave well emough alone .
agree with others... I would not use it this early...
give it some time.. if you choose to use it mix 1/2 liquid kelp and 1/2 poly-vi-sol with iron (must be with iron)and I give about a half of a dropper. I have only used it on one girl and I think it helped some but was not a miracle worker :O)

It may help
I don't think I would give it yet. Maybe wait a month or two. It may help and it may not, it just depends on the dog. It can also darken skin in other areas too. I mixed the liquid kelp with a little poly vi sol and didn't have much luck.

awwww thanks ! we LOVE her ! m
I am hoping to show her . So thats why I was wondering about the kelp . Eye pigment isnt mentioned as a fault right ? I am new to all of this .

I also hope some of her spots get covered by adult coat , but if not thats ok ! I just hope that it wont hurt her in the ring , if all else goes well and she is showable
Re: Kelp questions
she looks perfect to me
Re: Kelp questions
she is young...her pigment should come in on its own...
