Saw a bulldog at a dog show this past weekend and the one lady was using a stripping knife on the dogs coat, does anyone here use one and do you use fine or coarse??

using ex. fine tooth hacksaw blade in plastic hack saw blade holder...this is from Nancy Schultz on grooming...gets rid of excess hair and smooths the dog over ... I think a fine stripping comb might do the same thing on the 'seams' that bullies get at the places that their hair grows in opposite directions and the get sort of a seam or cowlick line on the neck, down the legs, chest...whereever.
