Heat/Bleeding longer than normal???

Maybull has been in heat now for 19 days. Bred on day 12 and 14. She is still bleeding. Not as heavy as earlier in the cycle, but heavier than any dog I've had before. The blood varies from very dark to lightish. Anybody else have a dog bleed this long or heavy? Any thoughts from the "veterans" would be very much appreciated. I know they can bleed for the 21 days, just never seen it.

Unfortunately I did not do progesterone, just slides. I will be doing that next time for sure. I am kicking myself for not doing it this time. I have never done it before, and had pretty good luck without it, but I will be doing from here on out.

I've heard of some going more like 28 days--rare, but it can happen. Did you do progesterone testing to find the breed date? Good luck!
