Heres a copy of the letter that I faxed to the San Antonio City Council.
Thanks for your support!

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you with regard to the new proposed animal ordinance recently unveiled. Imagine my dismay to learn that San Antonio is considering turning it's back on it's five year plan to achieve a No-Kill community! No-Kill, as pioneered by Nathan Winograd in San Francisco is the only system ever to have achieved the desired results of reducing animal suffering and doing so in a community wide and fiscally responsible manner. This approach has been highly successful in places such as San Francisco, San Diego, Tompkins County VA and Washoe County Nevada.
By contrast, the punitive and restrictive new edicts of the proposed ordinance are guaranteed to have the opposite result, while at the same time will punish thousands of responsible San Antonio pet owners.
While I do not live in San Antonio, I do by products manufactured in your city. I have visited in the past and had planned to do so again, but should this ordinance be adopted, I will place San Antonio on the list of places neither I nor my family will visit for leisure. I will add San Antonio to the list of cities, including Louisville KY, Alberquerque NM and Los Angeles CA, that I will attempt not to purchase services or products from. I will forward this information on to hundreds of other pet owners and internet animal owner's lists. I do not wish to punish the citizens of San Antonio for the actions of there elected leadership, but I feel that the willingness to diminish and demolish the rights of responsible pet and animal owners to satisfy a radical animal rights agenda, based upon specific ideology, not science or historic result, must be answered.
Please, for the sake of the animals and citizens of your city, stay the bold and innovative course of adopting No-Kill. Please reject this new and restrictive proposal that will only bring expense and heartache.
Sincerely
Ward L. McAfee
