Anyone care to share any grooming tips and or products used sucessfully for whitening of stained areas on white dogs? Also Whiskers.. I've seen them tightly trimmed and i've seen them full.. What's the consensus?
I like Plushpuppy cover up cream apply the night before, crate and brush in the moring. http://www.plushpuppy.net/

PetEdge.com is where I get all my grooming supplies for my Grooming Shop..Their prices are really good and they ship fast.. Andis makes a really good hand held rechargeable trimmer.. Its called the Andis Power TRim and is about 39 bucks ..You might also want to get a good pair off thinning shears to thin out the whorls under the tail and feathering on the back of the rear legs...I also trim up the underline..Makes it nice and clean..Shows off the tuck up..

we should get together and do a grooming clinic at Winns. I get the curved blunt nose scissors. Shopping at the shows is great but a bit expensive. JBpet.com has scissors for a good price too. Mine are like 4inches just small but do a good job.
I shave the black on the face, under the nose and around the lips to make them pop out. I use shaving cream and a razor.

I am new to the whisker trimming...Brutus is au naturel, but we want to trim Nutmeg. Where's the best place to buy trimmers? At a show or online? Are they scissors or clippers or both? Liz and Winn gave me some pointers but I'm not sure what I need to buy.

For stained or yellowed areas use EZ-Groom Crystal White Shampoo. Its enzymatic and will make your white really white with regular use.. For covering up tear stains use Gold Bond powder..Its cheap and easy.. Shave your dogs whiskers..I use a 40 blade against the grain on the muzzle..To me its better than bicing the muzzle because you still have some fuzz..I hate the shiney muzzles from people shaving them bald as a baboons butt.IF you are going to do that youo better make sure your dog has the length of jaw and pigment to carry it off.. Just my 2 cents..
cut the wiskers
off, they give a better clean look.
