Havok was 7 mos yesterday. His ears hate the glue and it usually only lasts a couple of days. I love his head when his ears are rosed though, and he looks so different than he did even 2 mos ago. We're still keeping our fingers crossed that they will stay that way at some point, the more his head grows. They are fine when he first gets up in the morning but don't stay that way. They stay in place with the tiniest drop of glue, it's not like I'm forcing them.
PS:(I couldn't find any longer grass to take a pic in...ya know, so his legs would look shorter!)
7 months...finally starting to look a little better...
5 months...he was being a dork that day...
4 months...still fairly dorky...
and...5 weeks...what a stud...honorable mention...
(and the pink spot on his nose is slowly getting smaller)

oh yeah...forgot about that stuff!
I was a RVT for 12 years...that stuff is quite strong, we used it for cat declaws, puppy tail docks, other surgical sites, etc. If it gets on your fingers they stick together good! I'll see if I can get some...still looking into the cow tag glue too. His skin is so sensitive though, I just need to keep experimenting.
Thanks!

Surgical glue
I was at the vets the other day and he gave me some surgical glue. Worked great when all else failed. Hard to get though.
thanks Sue!

Re: Glued.....AGAIN (progression pix)
If his ears are not glued in the 1st pic and they stay like that I don't think you need to glue do you? They look fine to me?

Re: Glued.....AGAIN (progression pix)
he is so pretty,, i wish charlie was his colour..
he gets infections from the glue...
so a very reputable bulldog breeder/judge (I don't mention names without permission) showed me where to put just a drop of glue and pinch them. We used to do them like your picture shows, but he would have discharge coming out from under the glue after a day or so (yes, we were cleaning them first). I wonder if the cow tag glue will be easier on his skin? His ears aren't stiff at all, they're quite floppy and just do whatever, but he likes to hold them forward and they end up flopping down.
hhmmm...

Ear glue
Honestly,...The best glue to get is the cattle glue. The 4-h ers use it...You can look 4 it @ tractor supply or your local feed and barn supply store. The eyelash glue doesn't hold it's "MOLD" very long. The cattle glue is safe!....My breeder uses it and it worked!
they are? who is glueing them?
they are glued very loose.

When glueing, fill the fold in the back of the ear with glue, put your thumbs in the ears and pinch and rub them in the the rose possition. Take the bottome part of the ear and glue that tip down too. I know others who do the above and then put glue on the inside of the rose and glue that too. I have not done that.
Glued ears shoud be tight.

his ears are rosed (not in that pic)
i dont like glueing to much, i think as they get older they start pulling the ears up and making them stronger trying to move them with them glued.
So, when im holding my puppies i have them on my lap and facing me, i put my thumbs in the ear and rub my fingers over the outside of the ear, massauging them in to the rosed shape. All my dogs love the ear rubs and as adults if they are stressed i will do this and they relax. I have done it in the ring with new puppies and it seams to make them more comfy and it helps rose the ears.

that's what I'm thinking too...
I keep comparing him to Phoenix who has nice, naturally rosed ears...I gotta quit doing that!

Re: I believe...
All we use is eyelash glue in young puppies. Hopefully they are natural eared and don't need it.
You will find his ears less offensive to you with each passing month.
for now, but...
...this is what happens if I don't keep up with it! they're just floppy...I keep telling him to look mean and hold them back, he just loves to hold them forward!
Suzie, Fabulous Phoenix & Havok
I believe...
that eyelash glue was the first type of glue I tried. It didn't work in the beginning, but maybe now that he's bigger & a little calmer it will work. I'll keep that in mind too for the next session!
Thanks

eyelash glue is the best......trust me :)
they look fine
leave them alone

I'll try 'almost' anything, but...
NOT super glue! I'll check with the feed store, thanks for the tip!
Suzie, Fabulous Phoenix & Havok
I would not use super glue
I would use cow tag glue if you need something stronger. I ordered some from my local feed store. I believe it's called Kamar.

Sally's...
Hair extension glue. Someone mentioned trying Super/Crazy Glue...but that just doesn't sound like a good idea to me! I keep hearing Sally's is the best. Any other ideas? I do feel like we're making progress...it's just still up in the air.

What kind of glue are you using?
You may need a tougher glue if his ears are thick and heavy. It does look as if it is helping.
