I am relatively new at breeding and have many things to learn. When looking at pedigrees and certain lines, I see some dogs, mostly sires, show up quite a few times in a 5 generation pedigree and beyond. In these line breedings, how do you determine when to outcross? Also, is there a good, simple breeding computer program that will track what has been done and what you plan to do? The way some sires show up is hard to keep up with and to know what percent of that dog is in the line. Thanks for any help.
