I entered Gabe in the largest dog show in Canada (which happens to be just about a 40 minute drive from my house) for two of the four days this week-end. On Friday he took WD, BW & BB for 5 points--so he's halfway through earning his Canadian Championship! I left my checkbook at home and wasn't able to pick up our win photo today, so will have to wait for it to be mailed before I can share it--but until then, here's a favorite of The Boy from a beach trip last year... 
We showed again today, took our class (only one in BBE) but that was it. Friday was a long day as we had to stick around to show in Group--pretty fun to represent our breed in a large show like that--even if we didn't place. It's actually closer for me to show in the canadian shows than most of our shows down here, since I'm up in the far NW corner of the state and most shows are a couple hours away--not sure when our next opportunity will be to try to finish up our title, but we have a good start!

No guarantees though--I was somewhat disappointed on this last trip as I have lots of family in BC & Alberta & we drove right through a couple of towns where some of them lived and had NO time to stop or even to call...I had to stay with the "caravan"
But I believe we ended up staying for the night near your area, too--but once we drove all day and settled down for the night, we had to feed/train dogs, etc. (at least on the way over) so it was often pretty late for visiting.

We drove all the way AROUND Lake Superior and Huron to get to Parry Sounds as Bonnie didn't want to have to take the dogs through the border! We went right through Thunder Bay both times--didn't realize that was where you were! I remember it well--very beautiful country! On the drive home it was right round there that I got separated from Bonnie & her son for most of a day & there was THICK fog in the middle of the day around that area. Well, if we do it again I'll have to see if we can connect!

Thunder Bay Ontario
Ontario takes along time to drive across. Thunder Bay is located right on Lake superior, still about 15 hours from Toronto. Kinda in the middle of know were, our city has allot of breeders who show, do performance, hearding, tracking, you name it our city has it, jr's classes are always full to. Its a great place to live but allot of driving to get to different shows. I sometimes would like to liver in a warmer place, but I love the bush!! lol, I made it to 10 show weekends this year so was happy about that! I'm done till spring now, pups need some time to grow up. Will starts Rally so I'm hopeful...lol

Didn't realize you were in Ontario!
...so we filmed Gabe's movie in your territory! We were in Parry Sound--a couple hours north of Toronto. For some reason I thought you were in northern BC! There are quite a few bulldoggers in Ontario! (several on our bulldog performance list, too!)

I've never been to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds...
but it's very close, too! Do they usually have many bulldogs entered? We'll have to plan to go up together sometime

Nice job Gabe!! thats neat your 45mins away from a Canadian show, that show would be a 30 plus hour drive each way for me and I'm in Canada. I'm in the same boat, southern ontario shows are at least a 17 hour drive or I can go to the states and show with only a 8 hour drive each way!! I tend to do Canadian shows within 8 hours as well. Congrats on your nice wins!!!
