FYI, radio show on AB1634 on Sunday, big audience, please write in or call

Permission to Cross Post. If you are on another dog or
cat list, please post.

Bill Hemby, Chairman of PetPAC has been invited to be
on the:

Barbara Simpson Radio Talk Show, KSFO 560 AM
Sunday, November 25th at 5:00 p.m. (San Francisco Bay
Area)

The discussion will be: "AB1634 is back", an update on
the bill. The show's producer advised us Bill will be
on for approximately 15minutes, unless it really gets
hot, then it could be extended.

If you are at all near a radio or your telephone, or
computer on
Sunday afternoon, at 5p.m. Sunday, please tune in or
call in. You may call in using the following area
codes: (415) or (408) or (707) 808-5600
This is your first opportunity since AB 1634 was held
in committee to voice your re-newed opposition to
thousands of radio listeners in the S.F. Bay Area.

Here are some talking points:

I am a responsible dog (cat) owner, I have raised dog
(cats) for _______ years, and I resent this invasion
of my privacy. I resent politicians telling me how to
raise my dogs (cats).
Whether to spay or neuter your dog or cat should be a
decision between you and your veterinarian, not a
decision by some politicians.
AB 1634 is punitive. It punishes responsible dog and
cat owners. it exempts anyone with a USDA License,
therefor it allows the largest puppy mills to do
whatever they want.
Mr. Lloyd Levine has amended exemption after exemption
into AB 1634, but not one of them will work. They are
so convoluted as to be meaningless. That is why every
national police dog organization is still opposed to
AB 1634.
AB 1634 won't work. Every community across the US
where MSN was instituted has resulted in more animals
ending up in shelters, higher costs, more animals
being killed in shelters, licensing rates plummeting.
AB 1634 does not address the feral cat problem.
Probably 60-70% of the animals in our shelters.
AB 1634 was drawn up by animal rights extremists whose
real goal is the elimination of dogs and cats
entirely.
AB 1634 is supported by animal extremist organizations
like PETA, HSUS. 90% of the animals picked up by PETA
are killed in their shelter.
Mr. Lloyd Levine has publicly called dog and cat
breeders "tax evaders" and law breakers, who make
millions selling puppies that end up in our animal
shelters. How can we support anything from a
politician who shows this kind of disdain for law
abiding citizens?
There are other solutions to the numbers of animals
being killed in our animal shelters. I support the
"No Kill" philosophy of Nathan Winograd. Mr. Winograd
and Mr.Richard Avanzino proved "No Kill" will work--
right there in the San Francisco, SPCA. They saved
over 90% of the animals.
Every dog or cat owner out there should read the book
"Redemption" by Nathon Winograd. It explains how we
can save hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats killed
in our animal shelters every year.
