Final brag from the Novice A obedience ring

Dixie and I finihsed our 60 days in "novice A" this weekend at my club's obedience trial (she earned her CD title in April). She qualified both days and placed 2nd on Sunday with a 192 1/2...these were our largest classes yet - 17 entries on Saturday and 14 on Sunday (which is awesome to think novice A is alive and well and so is the sport of obedience)

you'll notice we have a "white" 4th place ribbon in the picture - they added the score sheet wrong and realized a 10 point error - which moved us from 4th to 2nd (182 1/2 to 192 1/2) much better!

She sure ended her "Novice A" with a bang and I was VERY proud of her!! Now on to bigger and better things - we'll be showing for the RAE rally title the next few months and we will be on a open obedience team for DOCOF (Florida State Obedience competition) in September.....she's going to be a very busy bulldog! More pictures & brags to follow, I'm sure....

thanks

thanks Kim - this will be our first time back into the rally ring since February....may be a little rusty, but I am sure we will have fun!

go for it!!

I say go for it - training is sooo much fun and when the dog finally "gets it" it is so awesome! plus I think training keeps their mind young and active - Dixie will be 8 yrs old this August and she in no ways looks or acts like it - she will hunt me down at the house and make me play with her...she's a riot! and a pushy bitch too!

Thanks again

I love to train! as a matter of fact I go through withdraw if I don't and Dixie seems to really enjoy it too - guess it's addictive!

and now we're starting to train for utility level, so that is going to be a blast!(scent discrimination, directed jumping, directed retrieve, etc.) too much fun!

here is a picture of Dixie "working" her articles. We are just begining our training so she's finding the one with "cheese" on it - eventually she'll have to find my scent on a metal & leather - pretty amazing stuff!

Thanks!

Dixie is an awesome gal! and sometimes too smart for her own good!! She's a blast to work/train with and has taught me sooo much!

Thanks Rod! Congrats to you and Kim too on all your recent ring sucess - cannot wait to see those puppies, you have the most amazing litters!

flbulldogmom's picture

Me too!

we are working on "rankings" and the 10 point difference was a big deal...she currently has 39 points and could quite possibly be in the top 10 all breed for novice A obedience - won't know until next year - rankings are tracked for a calendar year! keeping fingers crossed!

wow!

Very impressive!

How wonderful!

Congratulations to you both! You deserve it! I am so glad they realized their scoring error!!!
