Could some of you please let me know how long can a bulldog stay out in this weather. A puppy buyer of mine just called and asked. They take an hour walk everyday with their bulldogs and wanted to know what the temperature should be to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
cold walks
I generaly walk the dogs (over 12 months old) for about 1 mile daily, (6-12 month) about 1/2 mile. If their just exercising in the yard for 15-30 minutes. My rule of thumb is if I'm cold the dog is cold. Puppies 4-6 month just walk into yard with me for about 5-10 minutes. Puppies 3 months or less NEVER.
If regular snow (6 inches or less) the dog will have fun in it, but if heavy snow, it makes walks much shorter due to the energy spent by the dog and I just trudging to the mailbox.

you have to watch the salt put for slipping, it will
eat up the paws. The ears get cold first since they are so thin you can vasaline them for insulation, i would not stay out more then like 15minutes. Also walking in snow is harder then walking on flat surfaces, so they will not have to walk as far.
