"Bringing Sick Dogs to the Shows"...

I would like to address a problem that is getting way out of hand as of late... "Bringing Sick Dogs to the Shows"... you know when you bring your dog that might be feeling poorly and or have a runny nose or maybe diarrhea that "you" just might be spreading a communicable disease to other's dogs that could be life threatening to new born litters as well as older dogs. If a dog from the same shows picks up the germs you brought and brings them home it's a nightmare in the making. People please one show is not worth the trauma you could be sending home to others. I have had more calls this summer from people with new litters, PG bitches, & old dogs that are hanging on to life's thread all because of so n so's dog next to them had violent diarrhea at the shows. It makes me sick when I think it could of all been avoided.
If anyone else would like to speak out please do...

Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this VERY important post. You are so right. Anyone that has a dog that is not feeling well, please consider what you may be passing on to another dog. Be considerate, please.
Showing sick dogs...
As if the sick dog is going to show well...
It is definately not worth the risk to others. That being said...all we can do is take precautions not to bring bugs home with us. Clorox and antibacterial sprays and soaps are our best protection. Wash, wash, wash!

Re: "Bringing Sick Dogs to the Shows"...
I agree, I had asked before how people manage shows with pups at home...I thought maybe some people who show alot, had some kind of qarentin or seprate houseing units for show dogs, not anywere near there pups for up to 2wks after shows?? I got my first bug from a show this june with pups at home and it went thoughout all dogs, even with precautions taken. I think the problem is that "BUGS" have a incubation periode up to 12 or more days, and sometimes there contagious before you know there sick, like with kennel cough. I wasn't happy about it but didn't blame anyone... I was told after the first day who had it and tryed to avoid them, potty area's and cleaned the dogs, changed before going inside left shoes out and straight to the shower.
