Hi Rachel,

Yah, we were very very excited about that litter. It was to be the first litter out of Cati Aults' male Ch Canna Pringles (Chips). Virginia was huge, but seemed to be doing fine. She was moving around good, was acting normal as could be. Virginia was due the upcoming Friday so she had just under a week to go then. Cati and Vicky came over Saturday of the Illiana show and they both thought she was doing well too. On Sunday she seemed less energetic, but not in distress though so we watched her. Her gums stayed the same color, her temp didnt change, she wasnt panting... nothing... On Monday, she just seemed really uncomfortable so I called a few friends to see their thoughts and we decided we were going to take her in. Ray had went upstairs to call our vet with a heads up that we were coming and as soon as he started going upstairs, Virginia wanted off the couch, so I helped her down. She sat down and I sat down with her, she layed her head in my lap and then she was gone. I screamed for Ray, and we took the next step to try to save the pups, but they were all gone before she was. There were 9 in there and one was lodged very high up under her ribs and had to be pulled down and out. To make it worse, Virginia was the last in that line and Ray now has to start over completely. Virginia was the strongest, healthiest bitch I have ever been around. She was a touch on the longer side so she had plenty of room to carry... It was the last thing we would ever have expected.

That just makes my heart sink. Enjoy your new babie she is lovely! See you at the shows.
