Ramona was operated of her cherry eye after Christmas. She has been doing great, but last week I left her under the care of my nanny and explained all the cleaning procedures for her wrinkles, eye, ect....After a week when I came back I saw her with awful stains from her eyes all the way down to her mouth. They are really dark, reddish brown, and also stains in her private spot and under her tail!!! I'm really upset because when I left she was perfect!!! I'm cleaning her with baby wipes and at night I but on the stains distilled water and after boric acid powder mixed with baby powder. She really hates it though, and her hair is peeling a little...AND the stains are still awful!!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!
I fed her Proplan lamb and rice, which I never had a problem, and give her bottled water.....
Do you use the plain listerine? (yellowish color)
I will stop the use of baby powder!! thanks!
I am not sure if this is true for dogs but I would think so
When we have infants with Yeast infections in the NICO unit we are to not use baby powder. It only feeds to the yeast. I believe staright cornstartch is preferable if you are cleaning daily.
I would also make sure the areas stay as dry as possible especially after using the baby wipes.
As for redish tear stains, thier may be some yeast develpoing there too. See if it has a funky odor. Id so Maleseb pledgets or Malaseb spray on a cotton ball does wonders. I usually get it at my vet but I think you can get it online to.
I aslo use Listerine on tearstains..it kills alot of bacteria.
Sometimes there's only so much that will wash out...
and the rest of the stain may need to GROW OUT, so give it a coupe weeks to clear up entirely...meanwhile keep the areas clean and dry. No one cares like Mama.
