They've had it off and on for a couple weeks now. (4 of the 6) I took them all to the vet, and they were all tested for parasites and it was negative, so the vet guessed it was from switching to solid food, but also said it's not normal, so I'm not sure what to think. The puppies are almost 8 weeks old, so people are soon going to want to take them home. I want them to be healthy when they go to their new homes. They are not acting sick in any other way, perfectly happy playful puppies, just every once in a while they have liquidy-poops.
My guess- I clean the floor in the kitchen with Mr. Clean, and I'm wondering if they are getting residual Mr. Clean stuff on their paws, or licking it off the floor, and maybe that's making them a little sick?
My other guess- I mop so often that they'll sometimes lick dirty water on the floor while I'm trying to clean. Not much of course, as I try to keep them in one part of the kitchen while I clean, but could licking dirty moppy poo/pee water make them have the runs like this?
Thanks for your help!!!
I like him too
:D
Thanks, nice pups!
Especially the male with the yel/grn collar, and the white female with brown tail (hope her ears "hold").

Thanks for looking!

After my earlier post I thought to add she could try the Ben-e-Bac or yogurt to balance the pups digestive tract. Ben-e-Bac recommends it be used when pups are weaned.
I would keep them on 4 meals a day till they are
at least 12 weeks old and at that time, slowly stretch their meals between meals until you can elimate 1 meal all together. 3 meals a day up till they are about 16 to 20 weeks old and then down to two meals.
At their scheduled meal time, put their bowl down and let them stuff themselves and eat all they want..When they walk away from the dish, pick the food dish up and do not offer any more food till their next scheduled meal time..
If you give yogart, be sure it say's "live culture" on the carton. Most in the grocery stores are not live culture and are just made with dairy products that will make the diarreha worse..
BTW...are things starting to firm up a little ? It will take several days of scheduled meals to get their digestive tracks slowed down. A quick way to slow it down is skip a meal or two..That takes care of the diarreha real quick but I can't stand for babies to go without food for that long:-)
when do you switch them to 3 times a day?
and how much do you feed at each interval? just till they are full then pick up the bowl?
2 things come to mind ....
The could use some of the acidophilus for balancing the good bacteria in their systems...it is a one time thing and sold in places like Petsmart and Petco...usually they sell "Benebac Gel' and it is often in individual tubes for each dog.
Another thing is that overfeeding does cause runs as said above and so does soaking food in too much water. I might try a switch to a high quality puppy Lamb and Rice or Chicken and rice as rice can firm up stools also.
Good luck....have we seen any pictures before the babies are gone?

I fed Pedigree Puppy and never had a
problem with it. Stretch their meals out to 4 times a day as Sue has said..Over feeding or allowing them to eat food in between meals will cause diarreha..Feed at 7am, noon, 5pm and 10pm..Let them eat all they want at their scheduled meal times but when they are finished, pick up that bowl..
To start off, you might want to skip a meal to get their digestive track slowed down...
I fed my litter Pedigree...
How often are you feeding? Overfeeding can cause the runs.
They should be eating 4 times a day at 8 weeks old. Are you still soaking the food? If so, try soaking it not as long so it's not so mushy.

Pedigree puppy
I asked the vet before they were born what type, if I should buy Wellness like we feed our adults, but he said just a regular food like Pedigree is fine. I'm regretting that now, but we have people coming to get them in a week, they'll be 8 weeks, so will I be making the problem worse by trying to switch them in a short period of time? I've given them a little kaopectate this morning, the bca page said that was okay. Hm. What to do?
what kibble are you feeding
i feed this last litter wellness OMG shooting poops with most the puppies.
You might change kibble, also watch to see they are not filling up on water, some will drink so much water they get the squirts.

Re: Why do my puppies still have diarrhea?
Don't know if the cleaner and mopping is your source?
Something to try to firm up their stools that has always worked for me.....try putting some canned pumpkin (not the pie filling mix with sugar and spices) onto their food. A spoonful or two, it usually works quickly, but you may need to keep them on it a while to totally get them firmed up.
