What would you do for an VERY dry nose

Gunther has a very dry nose. Very cracked and not really wet at all. Should bullies nose's be wet?

We put bag balm on it not consistently, but he just licks it off, so it's hard.

Any ideas?

I'm afraid whatever you put on he will lick

vaseline, chapstick, bagbalm.  Just massage it in as best you can before he starts licking.

I think the (Johnsons & Johnsons) Aloe Baby Oil Gel is absorbed well, and after a few applications, the old dry and cracked stuff should come off when gently rubbed with a washcloth, then it could be maintained with periodic applications.  Good luck!

I use Olive Oil

from DHC. Audrey does lick it, but you only need a tiny drop and it rubs in very easily. It's also very good for human faces too.

Aquaphor

I also use Vit E, Bag Balm, Vaseline. What ever is close at hand. Rub in well. It takes about 2 or 3 days for a really dry nose to get all the built up stuff off .

MacKenzie hates to have any stuff on his nose and he licks for hours after wards but after a couple of days of application 2 or 3 x per day his nose is all pretty black and shiney again.

I second Aquaphor!

My husband thinks it's make-up of some sort because he saw me putting on before taking a picture!

Lansinoh....This works geat and they can't lick it all off......

You buy it in the baby department at Walmart. Comes in a Lavendar and white box.  It's ment for Breastfeeding mothers so it's safe.  You only need a Use a pea size amount and rub in.  We use daily and LOVE the results.

Oh wow what a great idea!

My daughter uses it, I'll have to sneak some. It is just lanolin and you do not need to wipe it off before breastfeeding, so it's got to be safe for dogs to lick it off too.

I second that! I'm going to pick some up too!

I do have some bag balm...is it safe if they lick it off?
