What does a reverse sneeze look like?

I'd like to say that this forum is the greatest resource there is for bulldog info. Many thks to its originators and administrators.
With all that I have read, this one has me wondering....What does a reverse sneeze look like?

Re: persian

Didn't know kitties did this too, but it makes sense since the Persian is a short faced breed....
I found cupping my hand over the nose and mouth for a few seconds was enough to inturrupt the honking and wheezing and let them get their breathing back in sync. Then I'd comfort them because they either looked frightened over the episode or were light headded enough I was sure they would pass out.
Some would come out of it on their own after several cycles, if they didn't I'd help them.

Thanks for the tip

I can only imagine how scary it can be when it happens. You can only laugh at this after a honking episode I suppose. Do they ever really pass out after one?

My old persian used to do this...

No wonder I have an affinity to bulldogs. This sounds like my old persian 'cacking' and 'wheezing' ... sometimes with or without furballs. Can almost see them go crossed eyed when this happens. Do you stroke their backs to help ease the honking/breathing?

reverse sneeze looks like....

Head down, feet spradled, drawing breath in with a long noisy rasp, sides heaving, short exhales, not getting air in because the rhythm of inhale/exhale is off. Scary the first time you see it!
