What can I put on raw tail pocket??
Submitted by Alicia Jay Deuc... on April 20, 2010 - 11:45pmI was cleaning Deuce's tail pocket tonight and saw that some spots were red and irritated and a little raw looking. This has never happened before as I clean it on a regular basis. He has a deep pocket with a screw tail so I really gotta get in there. So after I cleaned it out he seemed like it was killing him. He would run really fast, sit down, and spin around trying to get it. I feel so bad for him. I put some neosporin on it hoping that will make it feel better. What else should I do or what else can I put on it to make it more comfortable to him? And how do you know if it is infected? There is no strong odor or anything coming from it. Can I put diaper rash cream on it? Medicated gold bond powder? I know all these but I don't know which one to use??!! Thanks.

Gold Bond Powder. Put the powder in a hair dye bottle and cut the tip so the powder will flow well. After cleaning with the diaper wipes. Squirt the GBP into the pocket.....Keeping it clean and dry will let the tail heal itself. Works for us everytime!
