Ok so my old boy vomits every time I give him water. This has been going on for about a year and he just keeps tossing up 'jellyfish'. I own a grooming shop in a vet clinic and we have done everything under the sun....any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is an elongated palete, possibly? Does he snore a lot and sound loud when he exerts himself? Have you tried a lixit bottle instead of a water bowl?

its a pia but he can only lick ice cubes.....i also have a dog fountain and the water flows out so they lick that...and that will slow them down... otherwise the ice cube thing works great....you just have to keep the dish filled with them...and that can get to be a pia....

Yeah we have tried lifting the dish and ice cubes...we also tried lemon juice to break up the phlegm.....his palate has been normal but I am debating if it is starting to hang with age....it is terrible...I have to water him outside or in his crate to either keep the mess outside or keep him calm enough that he doesnt toss up. It isnt even water 100% it is a very phlemy jellyfish that unfortunately doesnt come up easily....it generally takes a few attempts and many papertowels....i feel sorry for the ol bugger

If this were my dog, I'd try some plain Robitussin (Guaifenesin). If that works, you can get some guaifenesin tablets (easier to give) from vet but much, much cheaper on line. Good luck!

Twister has been kinda phlegmy in the morning (I contribute it to everything blooming in Florida right now), so I called the vet I use for bulldog issues and he recommended "Activated Quercetin" by Source Naturals (his son is the vitamin, supplement buyer for all the whole foods stores) and said this brand they've had the best results with. Here is a link below
it's all natural, totally safe to give and it's a natural antihistamine, antioxidant so will help to dry him up - Twister is 56 lbs (or at least was 2 weeks ago) so he said it was safe to give him 1-3 a day as needed.
Does he drink it really fast?
