Our older bullie (Sophie) 11 years 8 months was diagnosed today with vestibulitis which came out of nowhere. She has some kidney issues b/c of her age but this came on very sudden. Her head is cocked to the side and has a lot of trouble maintaining her balance. She falls a lot and we have to carry her up and down all steps. Her vet today prescribed dexamethasone .He balso suggested dramimine which she only takes for 3 days. Does anyone out there have any experience/advice on this? This is a new one for us. Thanks
it will not get better...
i have seen this in pugs....they were pretty happy....stress brought it on....so i would just keep her to her routine...no big excitement....their is nothing medically they can do...my vet beieves its an inner ear problem....but thats about all i know...i have never known it to be the casue of death...the next time she has a reaction watch her eyes they will go back and forth very quickly,,,,just make sure is safe and cannot hurt herself
god bless her
i have nothing to offer, but i just wanted to say i'm sorry and god bless her sweet little soul. almost 12 years old is just fabulous.
A dog will quickly turn you into a fool, but who cares? Better your dog than your boss. I'm a fool for my dog and proud of it.
