Hi! Our vet won't be back until next week but Tuffy's chin rash really looks bad now. The topical ointments haven't been working so I think antibiotics may be in order. Just curious if anyone thinks this still looks like chin acne or if I'm dealing with some other sort of skin issue? In the meantime I'm thinking of trying some witch hazel...
Have you tried Stridex pads?
Kofi's looked similar about a year ago, and Stridex cleared it up. I think it was Rotti's suggestion.
Hope that cute little fella gets better soon.
Yes, we tried it but...
when I applied it Tuffy flinched in pain. I do have a whole container in his doggie cabinet so I'm open to trying again!!
Cooper had chin acne / photo of what it looked like
Coopers chin looked very similar to Tuffys. I tried the stridex pads , gold listerine and keeping it dry with gold bond medicated powder but I couldnt get it to clear up. My vet put him on cephalexin for 1 week and it cleared right up. So far he has had no new episodes. They say it is common due to a change in their hormones. It is good to keep it as dry as possible. Good luck and I hope it clears up soon.
Wow...Cooper had it bad
And now he looks great! I'm so glad that the antibiotics worked for you!! We have a vet appointment in on Friday and I'm going to ask the vet to put him on the cephalexin.
Despite his poor red jowls Cooper is still a stud! Can I see an update pic?!
More Cooper photos
I think I have Bully envy!!
He is such a gorgeous bully!! I know that Tuffy would love playing with him too!
Thanks for the good wishes about the vet appointment. You give me hope!
What a face!
