tonka has bad rash on face!!
Submitted by bullfrogluver on April 21, 2010 - 12:01amTonka woke me up tonight with a big rash on his face one eye is almoast swollen shut. He is on cephelexin, and prednisone for a hot spot on his neck. i already gave him one benadryl, does anyone know how much i can give him. he is 80 lbs. Or any suggestions??

After doing some research last night i found that the dosage was 1mg per pound so i gave him 75mg which took awhile to kick in, but seems to be alot better this morning. I thought i was going to loose him last night, his whole face was swollen, both eyes shut, and it seemed like he had a hard time breathing. i don't know if the breathing was do to the allergie, or the benedryl, he was a tired puppie!! I think maybe he got bit or stung by something? He has only been on the prescriptions for a couple weeks, but he's been on these before with no problems. Thank you for your reply.
