Tails

OK everyone I have a survey for you, if you had a litter of pups and some of them had a very bad tail at birth and you knew it was going to give that pup problems for the rest of there lives no matter what and as we all know if you sell that pup and explain to the new owners what they need to do you never know if they are going to listen to you or let it get infected would you dock the tail like they do with breeds that get there tails docked at about 3 to 4 days old or leave it and hope it is taken care of. Of cource any pups that you dock tails on MUST be sold as pets only. Just wondering what you all think about this.

No, you don't dock Bulldog tails

issues with tail infections comes from the tail having a "pocket", so docking the tail won't do any good.

hummmm??

if I new the tail would screw into the body I may consider it???? but I would make sure if I had to go that route I would re think my future and make loose tails a priority. That is a pretty drastic measure.

I've had a puppy person get a pocket infection after a bath and not drying the puppy,(puppy has a longer tail with a slight pocket)a local vet told him the puppy needed a amputation when he got fixed???? three days of panalog cleared the up tail(my advice), vet gave him 300$ of oral anitbiotics... but some vets are like used car mechanics and that's the scary thing.
