Survey--feeding 6 wk old pups

For those that have raised a litter of puppies: What are your feeding practices?
1. Do you feed dry kibble, wet/soaked kibble, or a combination of both?
2. Do you free feed (kibble is always available) or "portion control" (a measured amount of kibble is provided each pup to be consumed within a given time period)?
3. Poop consistency for 6 wk olds: firm, formed (tootsie roll poops) thick, unformed (cow patties), thin, runny, sometimes squirty (mustard)
4. What brand kibble do you feed?

My answers for this survey goes as follows....

1. By this age it is soaked in water for about 5 min., just enough to give it a little crunch.
2. I feed 4 times a day portion controled & 15 min. time period (if it lasts that long...lol)
3. Nice formed poop easily picked up with a tissue.
4. Purina Pro Plan Chicken & Rice Puppy. Have tried many holistic foods & I just don't get good results with poop on these foods.

I have a 6 week old litter right now

6 boys and they eat 3 cups of soaked Royal Canin Starter biscuits 4 x per day. 1 feed has scrambled egg mixed in with it and 1 feed has cottage cheese mixed in and 2 are just biscuits.

Stools are round tootsie poops lol

Kibble soaked in water

I soak kibble in water after a feeding, so in 4hrs its ready for the next.

The water i have Probio's mixed in. Tootsi logs for poops, except for after vaccines where they get a bit soft for a few days. Each feeding i put enough or more in a dish and let them eat as much as they want in 10 minutes. When they are eating i then put down fresh water.

I feed Proplan lamb and rice puppy or natural balance venison and sweet potatoe
