hi, i am going to be bathing my pets in sulphur tonight on account of sarcoptic mange.
has anyone used this product before, i just want to be certain this is the right one before bathing them???????
It's called:
~Safer's DEFENDER garden fungicide with 12% sulfer~ ?????????
I'm not used of this product as i never used it, i use to use the product called Lyme-Sulphur which stank like rotten eggs and was orange in colour.
Thank you
Lynn
I don't know that product, but I use sulfur all the time.
I use Nu-Stock which is a sulfur based product on my horses almost daily for different things. I'm sorry, I can't help you with your product you ask about though.

personally if you have never done this before
please be very careful. You can make your dog very sick as well as your self in doing this. It needs to be done in a well ventilated area. You should be wearing gloves etc.I have never used this type for dipping but have used Amitraz. So i am notfamilar wth what your using but my guess is that its still a persticide and works as the ones I am mentioning do.
I also know others who have success in applying the tick collars that contain amitrazz or preventick.
The best product i am having success with in treating demodex is Advantage Multi and Promeris. Promeris contains Amitrazz and Advantage Multi contains same as Ivermectin. You apply topically every 2 weeks until you get a negative skin scraping. Usually within a month and up to 8 weeks with severe mange. You can order Promeris online. Alot easier and safer than dips if you have multiple dogs and not sure what your doing.
If your dog has Sarcoptic mange was this diagnosed by the vet? Sarcoptic mange is scabies and can be transmitted to other dogs and humans while demodectic mange is not.
