Ok Bubba has a very sensitive stomach and I posted yesterday about it (see below) He had loose stool since Tuesday. Sunday I took him to a bbq at my friends house and I think he may have been fed something, there were kids there asking if they could feed him, and I said NO PLEASE DONT. Also I fed him two tiny pieces of broccoli Monday.
He had 3 accidents in the home this week and thi is very rare, he holds it all in until I walk him. But the accidents occured while I was asleep. I go home every day at lunch and today he had diarea....I took him out and he went again. I have had him on chicken and rice with a little bit of kibble mixed in for the past 2 days.......I gave him pepto bismol this morning, and again at lunch time today.....The peto and the chicken and rice doesnt seem to be working, so I will not feed him again until tomorrow.
He had ulcers back in March but the symptoms then were severe vomitting. I am wondering why he now has diarea and why the pepto isnt working? Could it be the ulcers or what ever he ate? I am waiting for his vet to call me back and may take him in tomorrow........His diarea and vomitting is somewhat common for him but I am still worried.......Thank you all for your wonderful advice.
I forgot, endosorb.
it helps with the loose stools. I give two everytime they have runny bm's.

The diahrea
did you ask you vet about metronidazole? I would with hold food for at least 12 hours, his stomach is really irritated. Let it settle down and then do the chicken and rice. Keep him hydrated, give him ice cubes, flavored ith chicken broth, or you can use gatorade or pediolyte, freeze them and let him have them, he'll feel like he's eating, but with the diahrea, you have to be careful of dehydration too. My Jackson takes a pepcid at every meal, (twice a day) He had been vomiting and this is working for him. He is a really nervous dog. Hope this helps.

get some flagyl from the vet and some canned i/d..
don't take him where people might feed him and don't feed him anything other than his kibble after he has recovered. If you take him to a barbecue, crate him while people are eating. Bulldogs are the best beggars in the world. Nobody can resist them.

My Roxy is like that. She can't handle anything other than her food. Even different water upsets her sensitive tummy.

Thank you! Gosh
This poor boy always seems to have stomach issues. I hope it is not leading to something more severe. He had an ultrasound back in MArch, thats when she found his ulcers and enlarged prostate. Do you think if there was something really serious she would have found it in the ultrasound? Thanks for your advice!

Sounds like you are doing everything right
When Jez had severe diareha I took her off eveything but chicken and rice. I was also giving her immodium. If I am not mistaken, I believe when she was real sick once the vet gave me Metronidazole for her diarreha. That stuff worked great
Just talked to vet...........
She said a half of an imodium. And if that doesnt help then I will be taking him in tomorrow!

Oh yes...
Pepcid is for stomach acid. Immodium is specifically for diarreah.

Is that different than a pepcid? Thanks!

Ask your vet if you can give him an
Immodium. That may help with the squirts.

Thanks..........I have been good about giving him NOTHING
other than kibbles. But I honestly didnt think broccoli would hurt. I never ever give him anything and I feel sorry for him, but I feel worse when he is sick. I wonder if I should not feed him anything at all until tomorrow? The vet said in the past to hold off on food for 12 hours if he has diarea......................THANKS!!!

Well, not much advice here...
But stop giving him tiny pieces of anything!!! He has a bad stomach already, I would highly recommend you not give him anything but a little chicken and rice (you can even just cook the rice in beef or chicken broth until he settles down with his stomach a bit), it will take a day or two to settle him down. Also, you can try giving him a teaspoon of canned, pure pumpkin to firm him up a little.
Best of luck...
