I believe my bulldog may have a splinter in his paw pad. We went walking in the woods on Sunday. When we got home, nothing seemed to bother him, was really tired and slept most of the afternoon and evening. The next morning he was walking like he was really sore (like he had too much exercise
Anyway today he is really not trying to walk on it. I got a closer look, it looks like something could be in there. When I touch, he freaks. I have a call into the vet but was wondering if anyone had some suggestions.
Thanks

Raw bacon will draw out a splinter as well. Although I don't know how you would keep the dog from eating it! Guess you better stick to the egg thing!
Old home remedy but it REALLY works!
I've had to do it on myself when I've gotten splinters or something that I couldn't get out.
First you have to identify which specific pad has the issue. Take a raw egg and break it - doesn't matter what you do with the insides of the egg but try to get a piece of that almost transparent "skin" that is just inside the shell - tweezers can help with this so have some handy.
Take a piece of the egg "skin" big enough to cover the pad and stick the "skin" to it. Of course this is probably best done when the bully is asleep or getting ready to go to sleep for the night. Let it dry - it only takes a few seconds since it's so thin. Leave it on the pad all night, or as long as the bully will leave it alone. When he starts to really move around in the morning, peel the "skin" off the pad and most likely the foreign object will come out/off with it.
Something about the 'skin" draws out the foreign object -sort of the way they tell you that a face mask draws out all the impurities of your skin. I thought it sounded so goofy but the egg thing has saved me several times.
Maybe soak it?
I don't know, but I hope he feels better soon, hope your vet had some advice for you!
