I lost my bitch at 56 days pregnant and made the vet take the puppies. I have seven and it has been a long road but we are at 3 weeks of age tomorrow. They are on Clavomox and Oxygen with moisture. My problem is their skin is peeling. Only on their feet and belly and a little on the cheeks. Can someone please let me know if this is normal and will it stop or is there something else I should be doing. Thanks for the time.
Preemies
First of all let me congratulate you for your hard work keeping them alive this long. I have had 58 day pups and those have been difficult. I am so sorry you lost your girl. As far as the skin peeling, I know this occurs with prremie 2-leggers so it is probably normal with preemie pups. Is it raw and bleeding or does it just look like new skin. It may be because the fur is going to start to come in. If you feel you need to put something on it I would recommend Silvadene cream--it is what is used on the skin of burn patients and helps prevent infection. Good luck with these babies.

I work with
premature babies, and we use aquaphor on their skin. It's similar to vasaline but has more vitamins to help heal the skin. It's wonderful for them. Good luck with your puppies!
