My boy Mack, has developed an area on the top of his paw in between his pinky toe and next toe. I have tried Preperation-H, Epsom salt soakes and Benadryl. Is Benadryl safe to give to him twice a day? It seemed like after we did a soak last night, by this morning his paw looked much better. but now the day has gone on, is toes are swollen again.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
WE have him in Iams Naturals, I have check the labels and there have been no changes in the formula.
Thanks
Lisa and Big Mack
It could be caused from an allergy
I have given benadryl up to 3 times a day. It sounds like you are doing everything possible but, if it doesn't clear up soon, he may need some antibiotics to clear it up.

cyst
I am not sure what this could be. Last night it started to ooze and bleed again. I called the vet and I am waiting for an answer. I have a funny feeling it could possibly been an allergy of some sort. I am supect to wheat. I may have to change is food. I just don't want to have to put him back on the Temeril-P or more antibiotics. I feel bad for him, it seems to be a bother to him again.
I have been soaking it in Epsom Salts and putting neosporene on it, which stops him from licking it.
I will keep you posted. thanks!

Is it an interdigital cyst?
My bully got those constantly when she was younger. I used to get Thymol drops to put on them, which really really helped, but you need a prescription and you have to go to a compounding pharmacy.
